Ma’am I m from Sikkim so while making that dal first u have to soak that dal in water for 7 hours before cooking after that it will not take much time to cook. 😊

I'm a pahadi, from haldwani. It usually takes a little more time to cook pahadi food coz it's mostly slow cooked, without pressure cooker. But I guess Ur's took more time may be because u might not have roasted bhatt properly. Saare daane chatak jate h fry hoke, chat chat ki awaz aati h then u add onion and atta n everything else. I have bhatt k dubke and gahat k dubke ki recipe in my channel, u can try it out too.

Recipe - bhatt soak in water over night nd morning 1,2 pressure cooker whistle nd then make massala onion tomato with spicy nd after 3,4 mints add bhatt daal with water according to u how much u want nd then after ubaal it daal cooked after 5,7 mint 👍

Maa'm first you have to roast the bhatt properly till the chat- chat sound is heard... Then take them out of the vessel...then fry the onion, garlic ginger paste, then add small amount of grain flour, then add tomato, salt,tumeric, coriander powder...then add the roasted bhatt...then add boiled water to it...cook it in low flame...it takes aprox 45 minutes to cook..
Yes this is the right way to cook Bhatt ki dal(Bhatt ki chukani in our pahadi ), it will cook within 30 minutes
